The debut album, "IOSIS", is named after the greek word meaning ‘the process by which a base metal becomes gold’. Although in ancient times, the practice of alchemy dealt with the transmutation of metals, on an esoteric level, the process was also working on their psyche in ways that were elevating their consciousness, and expanding their awareness. Every song on the album is a different process, tackling concepts such as life and death, ego dissolution, and surrendering to the currents of Life. Steps within the greater work of turning that which was once lead into its exalted golden state, giving the album an impressive range, spanning genres as electronica and down-tempo rhythms to fusion jazz and experimental progressions, this album is sure to lead you to your own exalted state.

Alchemista Sonida spent years studying with and learning about indigenous cultures and their affinity with sound and song, including work with Shipibo medicine people, native american healers, Persian mystics, and aboriginal cultures. Finding a stream of similarities between the different sects, Alchemista began to piece their own cosmology together with the help of the ancient art of alchemy and esoteric wisdom that intuitively began to meld together. “IOSIS” is the culmination of this wisdom in its sonic form, as well as many years as a performing musician and instructor, Alchemista creates a powerful and cathartic container; a sonic transmission for those ready to take the next step on their journey.

The entire album, from the musical creation and recording, to the mixing and production, all the way to the album artwork and website design, was crafted entirely by Jordi Wood of Alchemista Sonida, taking DIY music to a whole new level.
